We're doing fine

Hi everyone! Just wanted to let you know we are doing fine. Kenzie still has a cough at night but is ok otherwise and has passed her little cold on to me. :) It's not bad just a runny nose, and sinus pressure. So, I've been doing the Airborne and Vitamin C thing. I just bought Zycam tonight. Another teacher said it's better than airborne, so we'll see how it works.
Anyway, I need to grade some papers and then head off to bed. I know I need more rest to tackle this cold.
( I would have posted some pics but I just haven't taken any lately. I'll try to remember!)

Update...

Thank you for the prayers. Kenzie is much better this morning. No fever, no vomitting. She woke up at four am coughing. I gave her more cough medicine and she went right back to sleep. She's not coughing this morning but her medicine probably hasn't wore off yet either.
Thanks again for praying!
Have a great weekend,
Amy

Requesting Prayers for Kenzie....

Hi all,
I'm posting real quick to ask for prayers for Kenzie. She started the day with a cough which turned into a low grade fever and one episode of vomitting. (At my ladies group potluck!) Needless to say we came straight home and she is now laying in bed with a bowl. I think the vomitting was just from too much congestion but please pray that she will sleep well tonight and wake up well again.
I'll keep you posted. :)

Pretending....

Hi there, everyone! I hope you all enjoyed the extra day off today. We spent much of our weekend hanging out at home and running errands. We didn't do anything exciting, unless you count all of the pretending we did! Honestly, I think Mackenzie spends more time outside of reality than actually in it! She pretends while eating, riding in the car, in the bath and even shopping. It wears me out to be so many different people throughout the day. Sometimes I'm the mom, sometimes the sister, the babysitter, the doctor, the pet owner, the grocery store clerk, the teacher, I could go on and on!! Seriously, I am glad that she has such an imagination. It's very entertaining!

These are just more pictures from the Discovery Center. I think that's why she enjoys that place so much, it's all about pretending! Since it's winter, they had a sledding center with snowsuits and everything. I thought all of you would appreciate seeing Mackenzie bundled up. :)
Mason didn't want to try on the winter coats. I can't blame him, why bundle up when you don't have to. :)
On another note, Bob and I are finally watching Lost by watching the season 1 discs. The show is really big here because it's filmed on the Island but we had just never watched. So, last night we sat down to watch just one more episode and got sucked in and stayed up too late watching 4 episodes. It's pretty interesting. If you are a fan, DON'T tell us anything! :)
Have a GREAT week!

A few of my favorite things.......

Not much going on here in sunny Hawaii this week so I'm posting a blog I thought about a week or so ago but hadn't gotten around to it yet.
After the whole "ant" incident I started thinking about my "favorite things" besides raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens. :) These are in no particular order. :)
I won't bore (or disgust) you with the details but lets just say that I LOVE this Combat ant killing gel stuff! It's amazing!!! It took a few tries to find the actual "point of entry" of our ant problem but once we squirted this stuff in the crack in the wall, WOW! The ants are gone! YEA!
So...
1. Combat ant killing gel
2. Clorox anywhere hard surface spray (Love this stuff!)
3. Febreze
4. Airborne (You know the teacher created herbal supplement that boosts your immune system. I am usually so faithful with this stuff anytime I even suspect a cold, but last weekend I didn't pay much attention to the beginning of a cold and I suffered all week. I even went to the doctor which I haven't done for years, except for regular appts. Mason took the Airborne Jr this week and is not sick at all!)
5. School uniforms
6. Starbucks Cinnamon Dulce Latte (So Yummy!!!)
7. Gladware
8. T9 texting mode (Yea, I am so young and hip!)
9. Saturdays
10. John Frieda Frizz Ease hair serum
Ok, that's all I've got for now. Feel free to add your own to the comments section. The kids are in bed and Bob is at volleyball so I'm off to favorite thing #11. A quiet house, hot coffee and a good book!
Good Night!

Children's Discovery Center

Ok, Ok, I won't be making any more promises regarding how often I update this blog! We have just been so busy here lately. The week feels like it's over before it even starts. I can't believe it's February already!
Last weekend we took the kids to the Children's Discovery Center. It's been probably 2 years since we've last gone. Anyway, it's tons of fun for the kids. They have all kinds of role playing centers, complete with costumes. Bob and I even got in on all of the fun. :)
This past week was our homecoming week at school. It was hectic with dress up days and all kinds of fun activities. I'm honestly exhausted!! This weekend is going to be pretty low key. The kids and I might go to the pool with some friends on Sunday, during the Super Bowl. :)
Have a great weekend, everyone!
