A day in the life of...

super spy kid and his sidekick upside down girl. They spend their days on the lookout for secret snacks and infiltrating enemy lines (aka Mom and Dad).
Mason spent some of his birthday money on "spy gear". (Thank you Grandpa and Grandma Stanley) He has a listening device, nightvision goggles and some sort of telescopic thing you wear on your head. He seems to be ready for Mission Impossible 3!
Mackenzie can't just watch TV like a regular person. No, she prefers a different view by watching upside down. I don't know where she gets the standing on her head thing from. :)
Other than this bit of wierdness, our household has been pretty normal the last few days. I went to a ladies night out with my Bible Study group last night. We went to Sam Choy's resturant. I had coconut chicken and garlic mashed potatos. Yummmmm, it was really good!
Tonight is going to be tacos and movie night at our house. I guess that's about all the excitement at the Stanley household! :)

Stanley Water torture!

Yep, that's what you get when you play in the mud! Don't worry, those are laughs not shrieks of terror. Mason and his friend Ricky got bored with running in the sprinkler and played in the mud today. Obviously they were not coming in the house covered in mud. (Especially since I mopped today!)
These two have so much fun together. Unfortunately Ricky moves in just a couple of months. I don't know what we're going to do without him.

A trip to the Symphony

Today Mason had a field trip to the Honolulu Symphony. The picture isn't very good but we did have fun. The kids learned all about different instruments. Because of Mason's allergies I have to go on all of the field trips and I think this has to have been like the 10th field trip this year! I'm getting a little bit burned out on Kindergarten field trips! Really though, they are pretty fun.
Mason has 6 more weeks of school, then it's Summer Vacation! Yea! We can't wait to see all of our family this summer.

Birthday Party Part II

It was a great day for the beach! Bob built a pretty amazing sandcastle, the kids had a blast playing in the water and the sand and I got to read a magazine while working on my tan! After about 3 hours at the beach we went to our favorite pizza place. The boys even fell asleep on the ride home. I talked to Kenzie the whole ride home to keep her awake because it was close to 5:00pm by the time we were heading for home. If she takes even a 20 minute nap after 4:00pm she can't fall asleep until quite late at night. Well, it worked until we stopped for gas and she fell asleep 5 minutes from home! Oh well, she still went to bed good last night.
All in all, a truly fabulous day!

Happy 6th Birthday, Mason!

We had a blast with part one of Mason's birthday party celebration. Mason's best friend Ricky went with us to see "The Wild" at the Theatre. After that we went to dinner at Mason's favorite resturant, McDonalds! Next, it was home for cake and presents.
Here are a few pictures of Mason opening his presents. Ricky is spending the night and we will have part two of the Birthday party at the beach tomorrow. (As long as we all get some sleep tonight! It's 9:30pm and they are still going strong!!)

Aslan's Stone Table

I know it looks like shoes, but it was actually Aslan's (aka Kenzie) stone table. She LOVES The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe movie and has been "playing Aslan" all the time. Kenzie is always Aslan and she usually plays it by herself unless she can talk Mason into being the White Witch. Her roar is quite realistic! :)

Pants or Shorts?!

Ok, if you haven't heard the pants story I guess I should explain. :)
Before Easter I asked Mason if he wanted to get Kaiki pants or shorts to wear with his green shirt. He said, "What are pants?" So, I had to explain to my almost six year old the difference between pants and shorts. He responded with, "Oh, I only wear pants on holidays!" And after I thought about it a while I realized that the last time he wore anything other than shorts was for Christmas! I guess that's what happens when you grow up in Hawaii!
As you can see from the Easter picture, we opted for the shorts. (and flip flops too!)
I figured he would get more use out of them! :)

Happy Easter!

We had a wonderful Easter Sunday today. After church our good friends Jim and Lora and their daughter Chloe came over for lunch. We realized that it was our third Easter together. They have become just like family to us.

The kids had an egg hunt at Sunday School and we did another at home this afternoon.

Here they are in their Easter outfits.

This is a picture of us last year at Makapuu Point. We went there again a couple of months ago and saw a whale breech!

Aloha All!

Due to my obsession with my cousin Stacy's blog, I have decided to start a blog for the Stanley Ohana (Family in Hawaiian). Since we see our families less than once each year I think this will be a fun way to keep everyone up to date on what we're up to. Plus, we have a lot of friends here that are moving this summer. Hopefully they will also enjoy visiting this blog.
Happy Easter and God Bless!
